Business or pleasure?

I started making jewellery because I loved it and still do today - there is so much all around us to inspire new designs and there are so many beads to try! So when my old, static 'business' website became such a bore to maintain I switched to the blog; much more me I thought, and much more 'pleasure'. But now, I am running low on business cards and am starting to wonder if I should buy more. They cost a lot and are a bit, well, static! Perhaps I should create something of my own to slip in with the jewellery - something with my details on but also something a little more interesting, that changes with the beads, the styles and the seasons.
For me, making jewellery, keeping the costs low for my customers; that's pleasure. And I am thinking that business cards are definitely, maybe, not...

I love purple

I confess to very rarely wearing patterns and there are some colours I just don't touch (ok, I have a purple, patterned scarf but that's it!) which is why I love a bit of mix when it comes to my jewellery...
The shades in this necklace make it versatile with your clothes, reduces the need for more jewellery in the suitcase and adds a splash of interest to whatever you wear!
Long live purple... providing its in my jewellery, not my wardrobe!

Who needs spring?!

Every year it's the same - one minute it's layers of wool, the next it's layers of sun tan lotion! So for everyone who has bravely stripped off, ready for the UK sunshine, here is a little something from the summer collection...
Glass, semi precious stones, wood, silver - its all here, with a sprinkling of golden sands!

Something fine...

One of my customers in the boutique last week spent some time remarking on the lack of fine jewellery - she felt it was all a bit chunky for her and especially with the warmer months coming up! So, for everyone who prefers a little slip of necklace to show off a summer neckline here is a more delicate mix of Swarovski crystals and white beads...

Cube beads!

So, talking of inspiration... It took a while to find the right supplier who could offer high quality beads in a range of colours... but I found them!!

These cubes have a faceted edge, which along with the AB (mirror) coating, gives them the most amazing sparkle.

Now all I have to decide is which colour with which; any suggestions?

A necklace of many colours

The great thing about a multi colour necklace is that its guaranteed to match more than one thing in your wardrobe! Plus, its a great chance to introduce a colour that you might not consider wearing otherwise.
Mixing so many colours with a splash of silver is guaranteed to add a little bit of summer to your day...

Some summer style bracelets to co-ordinate with the thong necklaces. A double wrap to really give a great mix of colour and bead style... with a charm for the beach!
I made these fabulous summer styles a little while ago, in anticipation of warmer weather to come! The thong necklace is always a winner in summer along with the mix of silver and bright wood. Now what they really need is a matching bracelet...

Welcome - again!

Somehow, I got distracted and instead of updating you here, I was busy making jewellery and sharing all the news on the Facebook page. So, my apologies and a warm welcome to what will henceforth be a regular chat about the jewellery I am making and the sometimes peculiar sources of inspiration. Any time you want to make a comment, please do - I love a chat about beads!
